If you're stopping by Lake Lona from Lake City, you won't be the only one; a great close by hotel is Comfort Suites Lake City. Lakes are good; String of Ponds is a lake that's next to Lake Lona, and Lake City Travelodge is a glorious location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake Lona without first going for a hike along the Osceola Trail, and       if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Quail Heights Country Club is close at hand. For the period of the summer months highs here at Lake Lona reach the 90's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 60's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Lake Lona plunge into the 40's. Paddling on Suwannee River is so much fun, and Lake Lona is brilliant enough                  to spend more than a day at, Casey Jones Campgrounds is a brilliant local campground. Lake Lona is a pretty wet place typically with a great deal of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You're most likely addicted to lakes, Lake Wilson is one of those nearby; whitewater paddling is pleasant on Falling Creek.
