Custom Search     Little Porter Lake     Named for Herbert Porter. Herbert homesteaded 160 acres bordering the lake around 1907. Herbert's father, John Henry homesteaded land around Wolf Pond, just south of Little Porter Lake. Herbert's sister, Mabel, homesteaded land just west including Mabel Porter Pond. John Henry Porter was from Bladen County, NC. Says John Johnson This lake is so wonderful.
