Grant Moyer: When was there a little lake johnson? It was always one big Lake! Until the drought...and Gold Head diverting the stream (branch) in the mid 70's????? Shame on the State Park system then to allow that type of water robbing!!!!! I grew up on that beautiful Lake...It's heart breaking to see it now..Only some one over 40 would know what an absolute treasure of a place that it once was, and in my heart will always be.

Many people like to go to Little Lake Johnson. Why not camp at Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park if you're here at Little Lake Johnson, and Lake Swan Camp Office is a tremendous local campground. Do stop at Pebble Lake next to Little Lake Johnson, it's a picturesque lake, and there are plenty of people from Palatka here. High temperatures at Little Lake Johnson all through the warm days of summer are in the 90's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures
