     If you came to camp Red Barn Campground is a magnificent place to do that, and dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Brooksville. King Pond is a wet spot that gets a large amount of rainfall; throughout August this area sees the most rain; October is the month with the least moisture. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Simmons Pond. There's so much to do here at King Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Oaks RV Resort  
   is a delightful place for that; after a long day outdoors Microtel Inn and Suites Bushnell is a great place to spend a night or two.
For the duration of the long summer days here at King Pond, high temperatures regularly reach the 90's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 70's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 60's with temperatures at King Pond dipping down into the 40's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from
 
               King Pond, you'll hit upon Drawdy Pond which is a gorgeous lake; during your tour here you'll meet some people from The Villages for sure.

...ild boar, wild turkeys, hawks, owls, white pelicans and an occasional bald eagle. Directly across the lake from our property is the Lake Panasoffkee Preserve, a densley wooded, protected area where hikers, bird watchers and naturalists can spend an entire day just enjoying nature at it's best.

Lake Panasoffkee is a beautiful 4700 acre, spring fed lake that is known as America's ''bass capital''. While bass fishermen come from all over the country to fish here, the lake is not limited to bass. You can catch your fill of shellcracker, bluegill, crappie/specs, catfish, brim, pan fish, stumpknockers, and bowfin. The sleepy little town of Lake Panasoffkee winds itself along the 7 mile, west shoreline of the lake and hosts a grocery store, hardware store, post office, bait shops, gas stations and several local restaurants for your convenience. Life here is very laid back and the people are the friendliest you will ever meet.
