    Why not stop by King Pond if you're passing through these parts. If you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites BROOKSVILLE is a fine choice. During the days of summer at King Pond temperatures are commonly in the 90's while overnight lows are mostly in the 70's. Throughout the winter the highs are generally in the 60's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at King Pond temperatures descend to the 40's. King Pond mostly gets a good deal  
   of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is October.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Brooksville Days Inn, and there are plenty of people from The Villages here. While you're here at King Pond, you could also go to charming Simmons Pond, and you can stay the night at Red Barn Campground. Drawdy Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit, and King Pond is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Oaks RV Resort is a nice place to camp nearby.

Lake Panasoffkee is a beautiful 4700 acre, spring fed lake that is known as America's ''bass capital''. While bass fishermen come from all over the country to fish here, the lake is not limited to bass. You can catch your fill of shellcracker, bluegill, crappie/specs, catfish, brim, pan fish, stumpknockers, and bowfin. The sleepy little town of Lake Panasoffkee winds itself along the 7 mile, west shoreline of the lake and hosts a grocery store, hardware store, post office, bait shops, gas stations and several local restaurants for your convenience. Life here is very laid back and the people are the friendliest you will ever meet.
