Johnson Lake ordinarily gets a good deal of rain; throughout August this area sees the most rain, and October is when it's the driest. Swamps don’t sound that magnificent but Stanley Prairie close to Johnson Lake is pretty magnificent, and if you're                  a golfer then a fine nearby course is Gator Landing Golf Club & Camp Ground.
