There is a great hiking trail near Lake Jackson
called the Vinzant, and Big Oak Recreational Vehicle Park is a great local campground. Brill Point is near Lake Jackson and is a brilliant place to stop by, and Lake Jackson is a good place to visit for more than one day, Red and Sam's Fish Camp is a good place to camp nearby.

 | WONDERFUL! I am so glad to find this site, and look forward to submitting pictures of Silver Lake. In the meantime, please note that there is NO camping at Silver Lake. There has been no camping at Silver Lake in ten or twelve years.
However, there is a nice clean little swimming hole with a sandy beach which is enjoyed by a nice mix of people. Silver Lake is a family place -- alcohol is not allowed, and pets need to be on a leash -- and people have a good time together in this clean, convenient park.... |

Dog Lake is much more of a pond than a lake. Perhaps, that can be attributed to a drought. The white sandy beach is nice and plentiful. There is a nice view of the sky and stars from Dog Lake. However, with its close proximity to the Tallahassee airport, the sky and the air are often disrupted by planes landing and taking off.... |
