The Apalachicola Trail is a delightful hiking trail next to Highlog Lake; Buck Bay is close by and always glorious to explore. Camping at Pine Creek Landing Campground is always a glorious experience, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites QUINCY I-10 is a great place to spend a night or two. Camping is available at Whitehead Lake Campground, and you'll stumble on a scenic lake called Old Lake. This       lake is so wonderful. There is a pleasant hiking trail near Highlog Lake called the Vinzant, and dry warm beds await you at Howard Johnson Express Inn. The high level of precipitation makes Highlog Lake a quite wet place; throughout July this area sees the most rain, and October is when it's the driest. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Highlog Lake. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 70's. Throughout the                  winter this place gets highs in the 60's; during the dark hours in the winter at Highlog Lake temperatures plunge to the 30's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site.
