Gum Pond is a lake worth visiting. At Gum Pond all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 70's. During the winter highs are mostly in the 60's, and night lows during the winter for Gum Pond tend to be in the 40's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Gainesville Travelodge, and during your tour here you'll meet some folks from Gainesville for sure. Camping at

| | Encore RV Park-ocala is always a brilliant experience. After a long day outdoors Micanopy Knights Inn is a good location to spend a night or two, and Gum Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park is a fine local campground. Gum Pond is a quite wet place typically with lots of rain; August is when you get the most rain here, and October meanwhile is the driest month. Stokes Flat is a delightful location to check out, and not far from Gum Pond you'll discover Crane Pond which is a picturesque lake.
