A visit to Grassy Pond is always a good idea. This is a magnificent region for folks who like lakes. Smiths Pond is a lake in close proximity; if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Turket Creek. There are plenty of people from Valdosta here at Grassy Pond, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Lake Park/Valdosta is a good place to spend a night or two.
