You could also check out Langford Pond while you're here at Grassy Pond; it's nearby, and Turket Creek is a good whitewater spot close by. All the water falling down from the sky makes Grassy Pond a wet site; July is the wettest month with most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Grassy Pond       is not the only place close by, Smiths Pond is a close by lake, and if you need a spot to stay Super 8 Lake Park Valdosta Area is a tremendous choice. High temperatures at Grassy Pond through the warmest time of the year are in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 60's while the cold winter nights at Grassy Pond are in the 30's. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling                  on Alapahoochee River Grand Bay Canal), and a nice location to camp here at Grassy Pond is Eagles Roost Campground.
