Cooney Pond is a reasonably wet place commonly with lots of rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here while October is regularly the driest month. Through the months of summer, highs frequently are in the 90's at Cooney Pond, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs all through       the winter are mostly in the 60's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Cooney Pond sink into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps like Buckhead Slough in the vicinity of Cooney Pond make for tremendous places to explore, and not far from Cooney Pond you'll hit upon Williams Pond which is a pretty lake. If you need a place to stay Travelodge Defuniak Springs is a nice choice.
