You'll find a beautiful lake called Cowpen Pond near Clay Lake, and Clay Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Astor Landing Campground and Marina is a fine local campground. If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn De Land is a great choice, and good hiking is available along the Baptist Lake Trasil. At Clay Lake throughout the summer highs are in the 90's, and the overnight       is a bit chillier of course, generally in the 70's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 60's, and overnight lows during the winter for Clay Lake tend to be in the 40's. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Clay Lake. Go for a hike on the Flatwoods Trail; some interesting geology is available here, Deadmans Bend is right here. There's so much to do here at Clay Lake that you need to camp here for a                  while, Deerhaven Campgrounds is a splendid site for that, and a great nearby hotel is Orange City-Days Inn.
