Barbara Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Swamps like Big Prairie in close proximity to Barbara Lake make for tremendous places to pop by, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Falling Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Barbara Lake is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Inn and Out RV Camp Park is a fine place to camp nearby, and if you need a location to stay Days Inn Lake City is a brilliant choice. A pleasant close by hotel is Days Inn - I-10 Lake City, and get dripping wet paddling on Falling Creek. Barbara Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is October.

Barbara Lake is not far at all from Lake City, and there are wonderful places to look at along the Osceola Trail. Stay the night at Oaks N Pines RV Campground, and whitewater paddling is glorious on Suwannee River.
