There are several primitive campsites with picnic tables, a pavillion, and nature trails....even a little fishing pier. The dirt road is passable for a small RV, but leveling is difficult. Contact Jackson Goard at Eglin for permit. Pass is $6 a year, and to camp is $5 for 5 days. Blue Gills and Bass are in the pond, as well as (I'd bet) an aligator or two. A magnificent nearby hotel is Quality Inn Niceville, and Anderson Branch is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. If you're popping by Anderson Pond from Fort Walton Beach-Crestview-Destin, you won't be the only one, and do check out Kepner Pond, it's a striking lake. Anderson Pond is a wet spot that gets a great deal of rainfall; July is the month that       gets the most rain; the driest month of the year is April. If you need a site to stay Comfort Suites Niceville is a great choice, and if you came for an overnight stay Bayview Campground is a great spot to camp. Destin Camp Grounds is a tremendous campground nearby. Throughout the days of summer, highs mostly are in the 90's at Anderson Pond while night lows are usually in the 70's.
