     Lots of folks from Dover come to Silver Lake, and do explore Moores Lake, it's a charming lake. You truly must love Silver Lake. An attention-grabbing thing to stop by near Silver Lake is Silver Lake Dam. The high level of rainfall makes Silver Lake a rather wet location; August is when you get the most rain here, and February meanwhile is the driest month. If you came for an overnight stay G and R Recreation Area and Campground is a good place to camp, and
after a long day outdoors Super 8 Dover is a good place to spend a night or two.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Killens Pond State Park; if you're here, you could also visit scenic Howell Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Dover Downtown, and swing by Fork Branch it's a great location to pop by. During the summertime months highs here at Silver Lake get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's.

             High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Silver Lake dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights.

We visited Killen Pond and stayed for a week in one of their cabins. It was a most enjoyable stay. The cabin was comfortable and the park surrounding were amazingly beautiful. We had access to a paddleboat and dock which we used every day in addition, we brought our bikes and took a bike ride every morning. We loved it and would highly reccommend it to couples or family vacation....

My wife and I retired here to Haven Lake, we have renamed it ''Heaven Lake'' It is quite peaceful and a fisherman or nature lover's paradise. The fish jump right out of the water! I am not kidding you. The species of birds and wildlife are amazing. My wife and I take an early morning boatride and seldom see another boater. It's like having this beautiful 82 acre premier fishing lake to ourselves. We respect and appreciate every inch of it....
Haven lake is a great lake i would know its right by my house you can go boating or you can fish off of the bridge!!!!!!...

The school has boats docked in the lake on their property for students to use, and there is an area that is restricted and marked by signs in the water. They also hold races there, and there are lanes marked with floats for this purpose, so be careful with your outboard when fishing or crossing these areas. They also prohibit alcoholic beverages, and there is a State Game Warden there at the ramp most times in the spring and summer. He will check your license, coolers, and boats. The ramp is good, but has a slight drop-off when you get a few feet in, so launch slowly. The parking lot itself holds about 8-10 vehicles, but you can park on the side of the road, and walk back down. There are signs on the fences clearly stating all the rules.
