     Blackbird Pond is a nice lake to visit. Blackbird Pond is a wet place that gets much rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail Route is a glorious spot next to Blackbird Pond, and a brilliant nearby hotel is Sleep Inn & Suites. You'll meet a lot of people from Dover here. There's so much to do here at Blackbird Pond that you need to camp here for a while,  
   Lums Pond State Park is a good location for that.
So many cool things to do at Blackbird Pond, so little time. Blackbird Pond is not the only place nearby, Silver Lake is a nearby lake; obviously Barlow Branch flows through this neighborhood. If you get bored of Blackbird Pond, you could also check out nearby Wiggins Mill Pond. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Blackbird Pond has to offer, you can camp at Odessa Campground.

               summertime months at Blackbird Pond temperatures are generally in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Blackbird Pond. This lake is so wonderful. ...cent of out-of-state anglers is over now, but it still receives it's fair share of pressure. Many days there will be 8-10 boats here. The area by the dam and the road to your right after you leave the ramp is not worth spending your time with. Small bass and panfish are caught here, but there are better locations. Noxontown is about 4 feet deep on average, but most of the shoreline up close, is in 1-2 feet of water. The water is always stained to muddy, so your selections of lures and colors should reflect that. There are just hundreds of trees, rocks, gravel, sand, and laydowns, so you need to know where to spend most of your time. There are various types of vegetation, including lots of lily pads, that rise above the surface. The extreme upper end, is shallow and muddy, and holds less large bass than other sections of the lake.

The first place to start is the North shore, about 200 yards up from the school. This area is best probed with spinnerbait and buzzbaits first for active fish, but it is definitely a jig or tube area. Work all this cover, (and there will be a lot of i...
