What a place this is for outdoors people. Residence Inn Dover is a magnificent place to get some rest; not far from Bear Swamp Pool you'll find Raymond Pool which is a pretty lake. Bear Swamp Pool is a good place of common rain; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest of the months is February. Camping at Odessa Campground is always a nice experience, and you're sure to encounter some fine folks from Dover here.

This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Killens Pond State Park, and since you're here you should take a look at Dutch Neck. Summertime highs at Bear Swamp Pool ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and the nighttime is rather
chillier of course, typically in the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Bear Swamp Pool dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights.

We visited Killen Pond and stayed for a week in one of their cabins. It was a most enjoyable stay. The cabin was comfortable and the park surrounding were amazingly beautiful. We had access to a paddleboat and dock which we used every day in addition, we brought our bikes and took a bike ride every morning. We loved it and would highly reccommend it to couples or family vacation.... |

... to come there, but a NO-WAKE policy is in effect. If you cause a commotion or disturbance they can prohibit them again, so you must be respectful. The school has boats docked in the lake on their property for students to use, and there is an area that is restricted and marked by signs in the water. They also hold races there, and there are lanes marked with floats for this purpose, so be careful with your outboard when fishing or crossing these areas. They also prohibit alcoholic beverages, and there is a State Game Warden there at the ramp most times in the spring and summer. He will check your license, coolers, and boats. The ramp is good, but has a slight drop-off when you get a few feet in, so launch slowly. The parking lot itself holds about 8-10 vehicles, but you can park on the side of the road, and walk back down. There are signs on the fences clearly stating all the rules.

We love this campground. They have constant activities from dawn till dusk. Everyone really gets into the daily activities! The owner is always available and courteous. Did I mention the sites are HUGE? they also have companion sites which are great when camping with a freind!
