What a nice lake Lake Windwing is. Lake Windwing beyond doubt is in the middle of a gorgeous outdoors paradise. A fine close by hotel is Springhill Suites By Marriott Danbury, and you can stay the night at Kettletown State Park. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Thunder Ridge, and a gorgeous lake like Lake Naraneka is a splendid place to take a look at. Why not stop at Lake Windwing Dam if you're here, and get yourself into a kayak

| | and hit East Aspetuck River. Lakes are such calm places, why not stop by Lake Windwing in close proximity to Lake Windwing; a tour to Seth Low Pierrepont State Park Reserve is a great idea. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of people from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown come to Lake Windwing, and if you need a place to stay Danbury Super 8 Motel is a glorious choice. cools down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Lake Windwing drop into the 10's. The summit of Barrow Mountain can be made out from Lake Windwing, and
float down the rapids of Norwalk River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Windwing is a pleasant location to visit for more than one day, Mountain Workshop is a pleasant location to camp nearby, and while you're here and
you like golf, you can check out Ridgefield Golf Course. The amount of rain that falls at Lake Windwing is close to the national average; May is when you get the most rain here; February on the other hand is the driest.

 | 15 miles away ...story pink house on chestnut ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..a... |

I found her name carved into one of the bunks on the rafters: Sydell Freiman 1949! Shame it's not used anymore for innercity poor kids, like we were. Ellen Knebel...I'm sad to hear that the camp itself is not there any more. I worked there in 69-73...I began working on ''the senior side'' and we livrf in ''the mansion'' for one summer. ...There was a house at the middle of the camp itself where the camp director lived.
