Why not stop at Winchester Lake Dam while you're here, and a beautiful lake like Park Pond is a great location to pop by. Hit the slopes at Ski Sundown close by; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Mattatuck Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites; Winchester Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Burr Pond State Park is a good local campground. If you came to camp Laurel Crest Campground is a wonderful spot to do that,

| | and while you're here you can take a hike along the Mattatuck Trail. And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do near Winchester Lake. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sandy Brook River; lots of folks from Torrington come here. is a fine lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Days Inn - Torrington is a wonderful choice, and on a splendid day you can take a hike along the Wild Cat Trail. Still River has a glorious whitewater
paddling spot nearby; Mount Ouleout is a peak you can make out from Winchester Lake. Winchester Lake gets a large amount of water; the month with most of the rain is August; January is the month with the least moisture. This lake
is so wonderful. Looking for some flowing water? Try Fox Brook, and a perfect location like John A. Minetto State Park is too splendid to leave out.
