Hit the slopes at Ski Sundown close by; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Mattatuck Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites; Winchester Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Burr Pond State Park is a good local campground. If you came to camp Laurel Crest Campground is a wonderful spot to do that,       and while you're here you can take a hike along the Mattatuck Trail. And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do near Winchester Lake. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sandy Brook River; lots of folks from Torrington come here. High temperatures at Winchester Lake during the days of summer are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in                  the 30's; nighttime lows in the 0's for Winchester Lake. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing stuff just keep reading.
