right time of year, Quinebaug River offers some fine whitewater, and there's a delightful forest called Quaddick State Forest. All the water falling down from the sky makes Whitmans Pond a wet location; November is the month that
gets the most rain; February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. From Whitmans Pond you acquire a delightful panorama of Benson Mountain, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Walkabout Trail.
