The panorama of Benton Hill from Whiting River Reservoir is pretty, and there are great places to look at along the Wild Cat Trail. After a long day outdoors Great Barrington MA Travelodge is a delightful site to spend a night or two, and enjoy a round of golf at Quarry View Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater       paddling on Housatonic River, and you can stay the night at Camp Half Moon. Don't forget to take a perfect little trip to Ginger Creek; Haystack Mountain State Park is a delightful site to pop by on a pretty day. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do near Whiting River Reservoir. Housatonic River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and don't leave Whiting River Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Elbow Trail. Whiting                  River Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out, and you can hit the slopes at Mohawk Mountain close by. Whiting River Reservoir is a wonderful location to visit for more than one day, Lone Oak Camp Sites is a wonderful location to camp nearby, and Blackberry River Inn is a pleasant spot to get some rest. Whiting River Reservoir is a reasonably wet place frequently with a lot of rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Do stop at Harmon Pond next to Whiting River Reservoir, it's a picturesque lake, and good hiking is available along the Indian Trail. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great world it would be. While you're here at Whiting River Reservoir, you could also pop by lovely Case Pond, and Ski Butternut has splendid slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Whiting River Reservoir frequently tend to be in the 80's while overnight lows are mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Whiting River Reservoir plunge into the 0's.
