Whist Pond Dam is an attention-grabbing thing to check out, and if you need a site to stay Yankee Pedlar Inn is a splendid choice. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Whist Pond, so little time. While you're here at Whist Pond you can play some golf at Stonybrook Golf Course, and Mohawk Mountain is a very popular ski area in close proximity. Just can't get enough of Whist Pond. | | than a day at, Burr Pond State Park is a good local campground. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Tollgate Hill Inn is a delightful place to spend a night or two, and there are other locations here than Whist Pond, for example Hatchaloosie Reservoir. nights come with lows in the 0's to Whist Pond. A journey to John A. Minetto State Park when you're here at Whist Pond is never a bad idea; why not head up to Ski Sundown and strap some skis to your feet. All the water falling
down from the sky makes Whist Pond a wet place; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Bantam River; don't leave Whist Pond without
first going for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Whist Pond, you'll locate Migeon Pond which is a beautiful lake; the top of Beech Hill is easily distinguished from Whist Pond. If you're
going to Whist Pond from Torrington, you won't be the only one, and camping at Macedonia Brook State Park is always a magnificent experience. Go for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Farmington River offers some magnificent whitewater.
