Wheeler Pond is a wet spot that gets a great deal of rain; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do near Wheeler Pond. Don't forget to take a splendid little tour to Falls Brook; after a long day outdoors Microtel Inn and Suites Uncasville is a great location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. A great       close by hotel is Holiday Inn NORWICH; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Narragansett Trail. Not far from Wheeler Pond you obtain some wonderful water scenery at Wheeler Pond Dam; Barnville Hill is a peak you can spot from Wheeler Pond. You'll hit upon a wonderful lake called Picker Pond near Wheeler Pond. There's so much to do here at Wheeler Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Laurel-lock Campgrounds is a wonderful site for that.                  At Wheeler Pond through the summertime months highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Wheeler Pond are in the 10's. If you came to camp Pequot Ledge Campgrounds is a perfect place to do that, and Stoddard Hill State Park is worth stopping at. If you're here at Wheeler Pond and you like golf, you can have a look at Walnut Hill Country Club; a brilliant site for whitewater paddling is Natchaug River. This lake is so wonderful.
