The Mattabesset Trail offers hiking at its best, and Bradley Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting. All the water falling down from the sky makes West Lake a wet spot; the month with most of the rain is May, and February is the month with the least moisture. You can run the rapids of Hammonasset River in the neighborhood of West Lake; a pleasant nearby hotel is Crowne Plaza Hotel HARTFORD SOUTH CROMWELL. High temperatures at West

| | Lake through the summer are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's; night lows in the 10's for West Lake. Powder Ridge is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and a short visit to Westfield Falls is always worthwhile. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Mount Southington. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff | |

at West Lake. Don't leave West Lake without going to Wadsworth Falls State Park, and West Lake is not far at all from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down
to West Lake. You're probably addicted to lakes, Highland Pond is one of those close by, and the top of Fall Hill is easily distinguished from West Lake. There's whitewater on Roaring Brook River for all you adrenaline people; probably
you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Miner Pond is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. West Lake is right by the Washington Trail; if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Cromwell is a nice choice.
Golf can be played at Miner Hills Golf Course & Driving Range. You'll need more than a day to explore everything West Lake has to offer, you can camp at Little City Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Camp Eagle Feather, and do take a hike on the Mattabesset Trail.
