    What a nice lake Lake Wepawaug is. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Milford/New Haven, and Wepawaug Reservoir Dam is a location that is near Lake Wepawaug. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Lake Wepawaug. While you're here at Lake Wepawaug you will meet lots of people from nearby New Haven-Milford; you can have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Regicides Trail. Nothing beats kicking back at Gulf Beach, and when you're here it's always  
   fun to pop by Osbornedale State Park.
Just can't get enough of Lake Wepawaug. Woodbury is a very popular ski area in close proximity; needless to say Race Brook flows through this region. Lake Wepawaug is nice enough to spend more than a day at, National Computer Camps is a nice local campground, and Howard Johnson Hotel is a great place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful.                by; going for a hike along the Naugatuck Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
Mount Southington has delightful slopes and a friendly staff, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Quinnipiac Trail. Lake Wepawaug is a relatively wet place regularly with a large amount of precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Lake Wepawaug. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Lake Wepawaug.
Near Lake Wepawaug you find a golf course called Grassy Hill Country Club; you can hit the beach if you want, Gulf Beach is practically right here. You can see Georges Cellar Hill from Lake Wepawaug. This lake is so wonderful. A great location to camp here at Lake Wepawaug is Branchbrook Campground, and if you've had enough of Lake Wepawaug, Clarktown Pond is nearby.

Call the Regional Water Authority and ask for Anita in Recreation, 203-624-6671.  She'll set you up with a permit. Or you can go online, www.rwater.com.  Maltby Lakes are made up of three lakes located off of Route 34 in West Haven.  The permit also gives you access to Lake Saltonstall and Lake Chamberlain for fishing.  There is much more than fishing but you can start off there. Good Luck!...I am looking for directions, so I can go fishing my girl says it is a beautiful spot....

Access only with Regional Water Authority permit (25$/year). Off Rt. 69, turn down Morris Road at Bethany/Woodbridge border. Left at stopsign onto dirt road, second gated entrance on right. Fishing, hiking/running, horseback riding.
Good sized lake for the area, however boating is strictly forbidden. Gorgeous, peaceful surroundings (no houses), and wildlife abounds. The deer often tolerate people closeby. The fishing can be good for the experienced bass fisherman willing to hike around to the various small, scattered areas where casting is possible. These spots are often choked with brush so accurate casting, texas-rigged soft plastic baits, and at least 8lb test line are a must. I've caught a few 4-5lb bass and some good sized pickerel....

We don't have golf or whitewater rafting in the campground there is a pool and a pond for fishing a small playground, but no planned activities or game room.? It's pretty quiet. There is lots? of hiking right across the brook though. And Bantam Lake is only 8 miles away for fishing and boating. Amusement Parks too are close and Museums. It is not a big resort campground. It is small and quiet.? Sites are big though, and full hookup. Thanks....
