If you like lakes and you're in this part of Connecticut you can check out Welles Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Residence Inn By Marriott Hartford Avon is a wonderful choice. There's so much to do here at Welles Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Golden Acres Campground is a brilliant site for that. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Welles Pond. Mount Southington has great slopes

| | and a friendly staff; if you come at the right time of year, Farmington River - Collinsville offers some good whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Welles Pond, you could also explore delightful Lake Erie, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Metacomet Trail. Talcott Reservoir Diversion Dike is pretty and it's near Welles Pond, and Avon Mountain is pretty and can be observed from here. There is a great hiking trail next | |

to Welles Pond called the Tunxis Trail, and not far from here you can enjoy the trees of Newton Brainard Forest. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Farmington River, and swamps like Hart Meadow close
to Welles Pond make for tremendous locations to visit. Lots of folks from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford come to Welles Pond. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Welles Pond has to offer, you can camp at Camp Eagle
Feather. Welles Pond is a wet spot that gets a large amount of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is May, and February is when it's the driest. Dry warm beds await you at Avon Old Farms, and near Welles Pond you locate
a golf course called Blue Fox Run Golf Course. On a nice day at Welles Pond you can take a hike along the Mattabesset Trail, and Talcott Mountain State Park is both splendid and charming. Be careful coming to Welles Pond, you might
not ever wanna go home again. Hartford Reservoir Number 1 is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and Ski Sundown is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. Through the days of summer at Welles Pond temperatures are mostly in
the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are regularly in the 30's with temperatures at Welles Pond dipping down into the 10's through winter nights.
