Any time is a great time at Washinee Lake if you love the outdoors.       A nice place for whitewater paddling right next door to Washinee Lake is Housatonic River; Canaan Country Club is a perfect golf course nearby. While you're here at Washinee Lake, you could also visit charming Twin Lakes, and there is a brilliant hiking trail nearby called the Indian Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Housatonic River close to Washinee Lake; if you came for an overnight stay Lone Oak Camp Sites is a delightful place                  to camp. At Washinee Lake through the long summer days highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Washinee Lake. From a rainfall point of view Washinee Lake is a pretty typical place; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Washinee Lake. The snow is perfect at Ski Butternut, and Washining Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. Washington State Forest is both magnificent and pretty, and it's close to Washinee Lake; close by you discover the Northrop Trail which is a good hiking trail.
