If you like lakes and you're in this part of Connecticut you can check out Wards Millpond. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Mount Southington is great. Wards Millpond Dam is a site that is near Wards Millpond, and there is a nice hiking trail close by called the Mattabesset Trail. Wards Millpond typically gets a large amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is April while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Wards Millpond while overnight lows are generally in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures
at Wards Millpond dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. If you came for an overnight stay Riverdale Camp Sites is a nice place to camp, and Baymont Inn And Suites Branford is a delightful place to get some rest. If
you want a nice time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Wards Millpond. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Powder Ridge is close to Wards Millpond, and if you're visiting from New Haven-Milford, you won't be the only one.
On a perfect day at Wards Millpond you can take a hike along the West Woods Trail, and a great spot like Wharton Brook State Park is too magnificent to leave out. If you come at the right time of year, Hammonasset River offers some
nice whitewater, and a fine nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express BRANFORD-NEW HAVEN. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Hammonasset Beach State Park, and a round of golf at nearby Twin Lakes Golf Course is a delightful
way to kill some time.
Baldwin Hill is uncomplicated to spot from Wards Millpond. Lakes are tremendous; Graniss Pond is a lake that's near Wards Millpond.
