Don't leave Lake Waramaug without first going for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and a good close by hotel is Homestead Inn. You can never get enough of the good skiing at Woodbury, and there's great hiking along the Mattatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
