Brook State Park; Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a great local destination. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Harrisville Golf Course is close by; a
lake close by is Abbott Pond. Wappaquasset Pond is right by the Munyan Trail. Wappaquasset Pond is a wet place that gets a large amount of precipitation; all through November this area sees the most rain; February is the month
with the least moisture. The Border Trail offers hiking at its best, and paddling on Quinebaug River is so much fun. Get dripping wet paddling on Natchaug River; you don’t have to go far from Wappaquasset Pond to see the water
at Wappaquasset Pond Dam. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Wappaquasset Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Wolf Den Campground is a wonderful site for that, and do take a hike on the Walkabout Trail.
While you're here at Wappaquasset Pond you will meet lots of folks from close by Willimantic, and you can hit the beach if you want, Woodstock Town Beach is practically right here.
