    A visit to Wangum Lake is always a good idea. You're most likely into lakes, Old Man McMullen Pond is one of those nearby, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Housatonic River. Don't miss out on a tremendous swamp; Red Spruce Swamp is right here at Wangum Lake, and Blackberry River Inn is a brilliant spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. When you're here at Wangum Lake it's always fun to visit Haystack Mountain State Park. There's so much to  
   do here at Wangum Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Housatonic Meadows State Park is a magnificent place for that.
Why not take a refreshing hike along the Elbow Trail. Wangum Lake is right by the Indian Trail, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Seldom Seen Pond is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. On a gorgeous day you obtain a sight of Canaan Mountain from Wangum Lake, and if you're looking for
 
               some flowing water? Try Roaring Brook.
All the outdoors exciting stuff in the vicinity of Wangum Lake will keep you coming back persistently. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Wangum Lake; Wild Cat Trail is a tremendous local trail, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Quarry View Golf Course is in the vicinity. After a long day outdoors Tollgate Hill Inn is a good location to spend a night or two, and the cheerful people of Torrington like to hang out close by. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! Wangum Lake rules! Everybody nearby loves skiing at Ski Butternut, and you can stay the night at Lone Oak Camp Sites.
Mohawk Mountain is a good local ski area, and you can take a little journey to Wangum Lake Dam if you're here at Wangum Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Wangum Lake. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and night lows through the winter for Wangum Lake tend to be in the 0's. Wangum Lake is a rather wet place mostly with lots of rain; August is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest.
