This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Hammonasset Beach State Park is a pleasant place to do that. You have to definitely check out delightful Jacobs Public Beach since you're here at Valley Shores Pond South; Valley Shores Pond South is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Riverdale Camp Sites is a nice local campground. This       lake is so wonderful. During your tour to Valley Shores Pond South you'll meet some people from New Haven-Milford for sure, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Mattabesset Trail. Summertime at Valley Shores Pond South arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Valley Shores Pond South. Hungry Hill can                  be seen from Valley Shores Pond South; if you want to hit the beach, Circle Beach is close at hand. Mount Southington is a great local ski area, and Comfort Inn Guilford is a splendid spot to get some rest. Valley Shores Pond South is a wet spot that gets much precipitation; the month with most of the rain is April, and February is when it's the driest. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Roaring Brook River, and there is a glorious hiking trail close by called the Washington Trail. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up.
