     There's whitewater on Hammonasset River for all you adrenaline rush seekers; do visit Guilford Lake, it's a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Hammonasset Beach State Park is a pleasant place to do that. You have to definitely check out delightful Jacobs Public Beach since you're here at Valley Shores Pond South; Valley Shores Pond South is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Riverdale Camp Sites is a nice local campground. This  
   lake is so wonderful. During your tour to Valley Shores Pond South you'll meet some people from New Haven-Milford for sure, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Mattabesset Trail.
Summertime at Valley Shores Pond South arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Valley Shores Pond South. Hungry Hill can
 
               be seen from Valley Shores Pond South; if you want to hit the beach, Circle Beach is close at hand. Mount Southington is a great local ski area, and Comfort Inn Guilford is a splendid spot to get some rest.
Valley Shores Pond South is a wet spot that gets much precipitation; the month with most of the rain is April, and February is when it's the driest. If the weather is brilliant here at Valley Shores Pond South, you can go for a hike along the West Woods Trail, and why not visit Guilford Lakes Lower Dam while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Tower Inn and Suites is a great choice; Guilford Lakes Golf Course is a golf course close by.
Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff close to Valley Shores Pond South. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Powder Ridge is in close proximity to Valley Shores Pond South, and when you're here it's always fun to pop by Chatfield Hollow State Park. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Roaring Brook River, and there is a glorious hiking trail close by called the Washington Trail. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Some nearby water includes Dowd Hollow Brook, and a beautiful lake like Capello Pond is a splendid spot to have a look at.
