The high level of precipitation makes The Upper Lagoon a relatively wet spot; through November this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is June. This lake is so wonderful. Spend the day on the beach at Groton Long Point South Beach since you're here at The Upper Lagoon; Haley Farm State Park is a       brilliant place to go. This lake is so wonderful. Highland Orchards Resort Park is a pleasant campground nearby, and Horseshoe Reef is a brilliant place to spend some time. So much amusing stuff next to The Upper Lagoon, definitely impressive. You get a great sight of Fort Hill from The Upper Lagoon; good hiking is available along the Narragansett Trail. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Birch Plain Golf Course & Driving Range is in the vicinity,                  and lots of people from Norwich-New London come here. Yep, outdoors amusing stuff to do are really bountiful here at The Upper Lagoon. A perfect nearby hotel is Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa, and during your stay here do have a look at close by Groton Long Point Main Beach. Throughout the summer months highs here at The Upper Lagoon get into the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; nighttime lows at The Upper Lagoon during the winter mostly plunge into the 10's. Taking a little visit to close by Beebe Cove is a great idea, and after a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Inn - Groton is a brilliant site to spend a night or two.
