Tyler Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Tyler Lake. The slopes of Mohawk Mountain are so inviting noone can resist, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Elbow Trail. Don't miss out on a great swamp; Balsam Fir Swamp is right here at Tyler Lake; hey, Sucker Brook is a delightful local stream. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting

| | soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bantam River, and a great close by hotel is Blackberry River Inn. High temperatures at Tyler Lake throughout the summertime months are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are mostly in the 30's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Tyler Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. golfing at a close by golf course like Stonybrook Golf Course. Camping at Valley In The Pines Campground is always a perfect experience; while you're here you can take a hike along the Mattatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
Camping is available at Hemlock Hill Camp Resort and Co-operative, and the summit of Bartholomew Hill can be spotted from Tyler Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. A lake close by is Cunningham Pond, and you'll meet
a lot of people from Torrington here. On a tremendous day at Tyler Lake you can take a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and a perfect spot like Mohawk Mountain State Park is too glorious to leave out. This lake
is so wonderful. Shepaug River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby, and if you need a place to stay Tollgate Hill Inn is a delightful choice. Why not stop at Tyler Lake Dam while you're here, and West Side Pond is a nearby
lake that you could go to. The high level of rainfall makes Tyler Lake a rather wet place; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest.
