Bedlam Hill can be seen from Turtle Pond; a perfect site like Buell Flats here at Turtle Pond is too nice to miss. Man, is there heaps of enjoyable stuff to do right next door to Turtle Pond. Playing golf is lots of fun at Golf Club at Oxford, and hey, Gotta ski right? Woodbury is a brilliant site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. This       lake is so wonderful. Branchbrook Campground is a great local campground, and you're perhaps hooked on lakes, Abbotts Pond is one of those close by. Turtle Pond gets much water; the month with most of the rain is June; February is the month with the least moisture. For the period of the warm months at Turtle Pond highs are usually in the 70's, and the overnight is quite colder of course, regularly in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are mostly in the 20's                  with temperatures at Turtle Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Take a hike on the Mattatuck Trail, and swamps can be such out of the ordinary spots, go to Long Meadow since you're here at Turtle Pond. Here at Turtle Pond there are plenty of folks from New Haven-Milford; Goat Brook is near Turtle Pond and is always a bliss to stop at. If only every site had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great world it would be. You can run the rapids of Bantam River in the neighborhood of Turtle Pond; after a long day outdoors Hampton Inn Waterbury is a magnificent site to spend a night or two. Going to Southford Falls State Park next to Turtle Pond is a delightful thing to do, and Shepaug River is a magnificent whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
