     You'll need more than a day to discover everything Travis Pond has to offer, you can camp at Burr Pond State Park, and getting to Taylor Brook from Travis Pond is painless. Through the warmest time of the year, highs commonly are in the 70's at Travis Pond while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's. All through the winter highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Travis Pond dip into the 10's. Burr Mountain  
   is a peak you can distinguish from Travis Pond; not far from Travis Pond you'll come across Burr Pond which is a delightful lake. What a location this is for outdoors folks. Still River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby. Lakes? Sure, Sucker Brook Reservoir is around here.
This lake is so wonderful. Bristol Cove is not far from Travis Pond at all, and do take a hike on the Mattatuck Trail. Travis Pond truly is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors
 
               paradise. A day on the slopes of Ski Sundown is just what you need, and the cheerful people of Torrington like to hang out nearby. A trip to Burr Pond State Park when you're here at Travis Pond is never a bad idea; a perfect swamp in the neighborhood of Travis Pond is Cedar Swamp.
This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Days Inn - Torrington is a nice place to spend a night or two; the trees of Paugnut State Forest are a good source of shade on hot summer days. Quality Inn & Suites is a splendid place to get some rest, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Tunxis Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mohawk Mountain is next to Travis Pond.
Travis Pond is a great location to visit for more than one day, Laurel Crest Campground is a great location to camp nearby, and there's always Burr Pond Dam to take a look at near Travis Pond. Travis Pond is a rather wet place usually with much rain; during August this area sees the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Have a great hiking adventure along the Mattatuck Trail; whitewater paddling is glorious on Sandy Brook River.
