Spend the day on the beach at Jacobs Public Beach while you're here at Thirsty Lake, and some of the water close by flows, like Iron Stream. This lake is so wonderful. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Thirsty Lake. Thirsty Lake is right by the Washington Trail, and there are other places here than Thirsty Lake, for example Valley Shores Pond North. | | you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Thirsty Lake has to offer, you can camp at Hammonasset Beach State Park, and not far from Thirsty Lake you'll discover Witch Hazel Millpond which is a lovely lake. Whitewater paddling is good on Hammonasset River, and Chatfield Hollow State Park is both perfect and beautiful. You'll wish for more hours | |

in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Thirsty Lake. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Guilford Lakes Golf Course, and a good close by hotel is Comfort Inn Guilford. Why not take a refreshing
hike along the Mattabesset Trail, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby New Haven-Milford. The scenery at Guilford Lakes Lower Dam close to Thirsty Lake is lovely; if you need a spot to stay Tower Inn and Suites
is a tremendous choice. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Thirsty Lake; West Woods Trail is a splendid local trail, and Wolf Swamp is a swamp near Thirsty Lake. Hit the slopes at Powder Ridge close
at hand, and Hungry Hill is clearly visible from Thirsty Lake. There's so much to do here at Thirsty Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Riverdale Camp Sites is a wonderful location for that, and time spent at Circle Beach
is always wonderful. Throughout the warm months highs here at Thirsty Lake reach the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Thirsty Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.

Maltby Lake

Maltby Lakes are made up of three lakes located off of Route 34 in West Haven. The permit also gives you access to Lake Saltonstall and Lake Chamberlain for fishing.
