Salmon River has a nearby whitewater section; the Old Route 2 to covered bridge at Highway 16 portion is a great 4.6-mile-from-beginning-to-end grade II section of whitewater. Do count on continuing to be dry whitewater rafting and kayaking this section of Salmon River. On Roaring Brook River you find the nearby Cold Brook Road to Route 17 section. This is a grade III-IV, 3-mile-from-start-to-finish section of whitewater.
