After a long day outdoors Avon Old Farms is a fine spot to spend a night or two; soar down the rapids of Farmington River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Homewood Suites by Hilton HartfordFarmington; hiking is a popular thing to do around       Talcott Reservoir; Metacomet Trail is a glorious local trail. Talcott Reservoir gets a great deal of water; May is when you get the most rain here; February is the month with the least moisture. A journey to Talcott Reservoir wouldn’t be complete without a spree to nearby Talcott Mountain State Park, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Mattabesset Trail. This lake is so wonderful. On a beautiful day you obtain a sight of Avon Mountain from Talcott                  Reservoir, and Talcott Reservoir is right by the Tunxis Trail. Here at Talcott Reservoir you'll perhaps meet some people from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford; the skiing at Powder Ridge is great. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mount Southington is close to Talcott Reservoir, and you can take a little tour to Talcott Reservoir Main Dam since you're here at Talcott Reservoir. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. A wooded neighborhood close to Talcott Reservoir is Newton Brainard Forest, and camping is available at Golden Acres Campground. Man, is there a load of enjoyable stuff to do near Talcott Reservoir. Buena Vista Golf Course is a tremendous golf course close by, and swamps can be such exciting spots, go to Hart Meadow while you're here at Talcott Reservoir. If you come at the right time of year, Farmington River - Collinsville offers some delightful whitewater, and Talcott Reservoir is not the only spot nearby, Talcott Reservoir is a nearby lake. At Talcott Reservoir all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's.
