This lake is so wonderful. During your spree to Taft Pond you'll meet some folks from Willimantic for sure; Mashamoquet Brook State Park is a great place. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Taft Pond. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Taft       Pond. Why not camp at Mashamoquet Brook State Park if you're here at Taft Pond; there's whitewater on Natchaug River for all you adrenaline junkies. After a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn Brooklyn is a great location to spend a night or two; Wolf Den Campground is a glorious local campground. This place is unbeatable, just check out all the entertaining stuff to do in the neighborhood of Taft Pond. If you're here at Taft Pond, you could take a                  look at Abington Brook. Lakes? Sure, Kelly Ponds is around here. Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is one of the destinations next to Taft Pond that are nice to go to; on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Walkabout Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's some out of the ordinary stuff to make out at Abbott Dam near Taft Pond, and you can run the rapids of Quinebaug River. Taft Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
