Beautiful Taft Pond has much to offer visitors. Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a brilliant national park, and getting to Abington Brook from Taft Pond is trouble-free. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Quinebaug River in a kayak, and there's glorious hiking along the Walkabout Trail.

| | is so wonderful. Taft Pond is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Mashamoquet Brook State Park is a wonderful local campground, and Harrisville Golf Course is a golf course close by. A delightful close by hotel is The Inn at Woodstock Hill; don't leave Taft Pond without first going for a hike along the Munyan Trail.

Killingly (Dayville), Ct is a great location to get some rest, and Abbott Dam is a wonderful spot. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. You're in all probability into lakes, Wappaquasset Pond is one of those
nearby, and if you've had enough of Taft Pond, Abbott Pond is nearby.
At Taft Pond through the summertime highs are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The winter brings highs
down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Taft Pond are in the 10's. Taft Pond is a wet spot that gets a lot of precipitation; through November this area sees the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. That right
there is heaps already, but it carries on; Taft Pond has it all. You'll meet a lot of people from Willimantic here; places like Mashamoquet Brook State Park are good to explore.
