Stump Pond commonly gets a lot of rain; November is the wettest month with most rain while February is typically the driest month. Pond Dam, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Quinebaug River. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail close to Stump Pond called the Walkabout Trail, and if you
came for an overnight stay Buck Hill Family Campground is a fine place to camp. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. Some close by water includes Blackmore Brook, and if you need a place to stay Annex East West Lodge
is a great choice. Do visit Kingsbury Pond near Stump Pond, it's a pretty lake, and get your heart beating on the perfect whitewater of Clear and Branch. For the period of the days of summer at Stump Pond highs are regularly in
the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Stump Pond. On a tremendous day at Stump Pond you can take a hike along the Munyan Trail; you'll meet a lot of people from Willimantic here.
