Do stop by Spooner Pond while you're in this part of Connecticut. Really splendid skiing awaits you at Thunder Ridge, needless to say you could also explore Ellis Pond since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mohawk Mountain, and swamps don’t sound that great but Tamarack Swamp near Spooner Pond is reasonably great. Summertime highs at Spooner Pond generally tend to be in the 80's.

time of year, Housatonic River offers some great whitewater. Spooner Pond is near Macedonia Brook State Park which is a wonderful site; if you need a spot to stay Old Drovers Inn is a great choice.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping
is available at Kettletown State Park; soar down the rapids of Tenmile in a kayak. You don’t have to go far from Spooner Pond to spot the water at Spooner Dam. You can see Birch Hill from Spooner Pond, and a magnificent place to camp
here at Spooner Pond is Buck's Rock Camp.
The annual rain here at Spooner Pond is about average; most of the rain falls throughout June, and January on the other hand is the driest.
