If you need a place to stay The Delamar Greenwich Harbor is a good choice, and get your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Norwalk River. This lake is so wonderful. West Fork Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Caumsett State Park rejuvenates the spirit; a tour to Harbor Point Beach is always a perfect idea. | |

On a beautiful day you can go to Hawthorne Beach close to Spahn Pond, and if you get bored of Spahn Pond you could also take a look at close by Putnam Lake. There's some out of the ordinary stuff to distinguish at Spahn Pond Dam right
next door to Spahn Pond; you're sure to come across some fine folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown here. Throughout the summertime months at Spahn Pond highs are regularly in the 80's, and the night is a tad colder of course,
mostly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Spahn Pond dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.

 | Is Oakland Beach having a fireworks display on Saturday July 4TH? And if so what time? And do you have to pay for admission into beach?...The beach is rather small, barricaded on either side. The entry fee is 8$ per person. The north half of the beach was full of sea weed and very uninviting. It seemed to be not very deep all the way to the rocks, which can be fun to play in.... |

 | 19 miles away ...ack in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road..I went to ... |

 | 19 miles away KISSENA LAKE IS ONE BEAUTIFUL BODY OF WATER!! AND TO THINK, ITS IN NYC IN QUEENS COUNTY. THE SURROUNDING PARK IS GREAT ALSO!! SO MUCH TO DO HERE. THE LAKE IS PRETTY COOL, HAS LARGEMOUTH BASS, SUNFISH. ALTHOUGH THE FISH DONT BITE ALL DAY, THEY EAT AT DIFFERENT TIMES MAKING IT PERFECT TO TRY TO GET YOUNGSTERS HOOKED ON FISHING. THE PARK IS GREAT TO JUST WALK IN THE WOODS OR GO FISHING AND TO FORGET ABOUT LIFE FOR A WHILE!!... |
