     East Peak is clearly visible from Slopers Pond, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Farmington River - Collinsville. This lake is so wonderful. Penny Brook is a great place to explore, and visiting Sleeping Giant State Park is a great thing to do. Slopers Pond usually gets a good deal of rain; August is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Take a hike on the Metacomet Trail, and you'll meet  
   a lot of folks from New Haven-Milford here.
Now, you may feel that's plenty but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Slopers Pond. The scenery at Hallmere Reservoir Dam right next door to Slopers Pond is picturesque, and if you need a place to stay Knights Inn Southington is a wonderful choice. Camping is available at Gentile's Camp Ground, and Roaring Brook River is a delightful whitewater spot close by.

               Sure, Hallmere Reservoir is close by, and camping at Camp Eagle Feather is always a tremendous experience. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Swamps don’t sound that pleasant but Hog Swamp near Slopers Pond is rather pleasant, and Hart Pond is a magnificent lake nearby. During the warm months highs here at Slopers Pond get into the 80's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Slopers Pond.
Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express SOUTHINGTON, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Slopers Pond; Tunxis Trail is a great local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Mount Southington and strap some skis to your feet, and a delightful beach nearby is Dossin Park Beach. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Mattabesset Trail; for you golfers we recommend close by Hawk's Landing Country Club.
The Hanging Hills casts its shadow over Slopers Pond; a day on the slopes of Powder Ridge is just what you need.
