Sheffield Pond is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Clarence Fahnestock State Park is a wonderful local campground, and you can take a little spree to Spectacle Swamp Dam if you're here at Sheffield Pond. Really glorious skiing awaits you at Thunder Ridge; after a long day outdoors Roger Sherman Inn (Le) is a good place to spend       a night or two. For the duration of the days of summer highs here at Sheffield Pond get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Sheffield Pond. Do explore Hendersons Pond near Sheffield Pond, it's a stunning lake, and get soaked paddling on Norwalk River. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps like Spectacle Swamp in the vicinity of Sheffield                  Pond make for nice places to check out, and there are plenty of folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown here. Sheffield Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Sheffield Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Kettletown State Park is a splendid site for that; Ridgefield CT Days Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest. When you're here at Sheffield Pond it's always fun to go to Seth Low Pierrepont State Park Reserve; why not take a little tour to East Branch Comstock Brook while you're here. On a gorgeous day you obtain a vista of Bald Hill from Sheffield Pond, and if you're here and you like golf, you can stop at Pound Ridge Golf Club.
