If you need a place to stay A Victorian Village Inn is a great choice, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Hammonasset Beach. Good hiking is available along the Mattabesset Trail; camping is available at Riverdale Camp Sites. Get soaked paddling on Hammonasset River, and unsurprisingly Chatfield Hollow Brook flows through this neighborhood. Life's       too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things near Schumanns Pond. After a long day outdoors Madison Beach Hotel is a great spot to spend a night or two, and you'll locate a picturesque lake called Horse Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A great view of beautiful Green Hill is available from Schumanns Pond, and while you're here, you could also visit wonderful Tuxis Pond. Schumanns Pond regularly gets a large amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls through                  April; the driest month of the year is February. You feel that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. When you're here at Schumanns Pond it's always fun to have a look at Hammonasset Beach State Park; a day on the slopes of Powder Ridge is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend close by Guilford Lakes Golf Course, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Schumanns Pond; Washington Trail is a pleasant local trail. Why not camp at Hammonasset Beach State Park since you're here at Schumanns Pond, and don't leave Schumanns Pond without first going for a hike along the West Woods Trail. All through the warm months, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Schumanns Pond; the overnight is a little chillier of course, usually in the 60's.
