    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Schumanns Pond. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Hammonasset River, and not far from Schumanns Pond you'll come across Tuxis Pond which is a pretty lake. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the area next to Schumanns Pond has to offer. Hammonasset Beach State Park is a delightful location to stretch your legs a bit, and time spent at East Rive Beach is always magnificent. If you  
   need a place to stay Madison Beach Hotel is a pleasant choice; one of the principal highlights of the surroundings of Schumanns Pond is Green Hill.
And that's not all you can do here at Schumanns Pond. A perfect spot for whitewater paddling next to Schumanns Pond is Salmon River; golf can be played at Guilford Lakes Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. A Victorian Village Inn is a wonderful spot to get some rest, and on a perfect day you can take a hike along
 
               the Mattabesset Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Hammonasset Beach State Park is always a great experience, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the West Woods Trail.
High temperatures at Schumanns Pond through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's; the overnight is a bit cooler of course, commonly in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows at Schumanns Pond during the wintertime commonly fall into the 10's. The Washington Trail is a splendid hiking trail in the neighborhood of Schumanns Pond, and some of the water nearby flows, like Chatfield Hollow Brook.
A large amount of precipitation falls at Schumanns Pond; April is when you get the most rain here, and February meanwhile is the driest month. If you came to camp Riverdale Camp Sites is a good spot to do that, and hey, Gotta ski right? Powder Ridge is a great spot to do that. During your stay at Schumanns Pond do have a look at close by Hammonasset Beach. Lakes are great; Horse Pond is a lake that's right next door to Schumanns Pond.

THe fishermen aren't nice here, especially in the Fly fishing area, we caught a lot of heck from them last year. MAde the trip no fun, I won't return.
