Graniss Pond Dam is not far at all from Lake Saltonstall, and the Regicides Trail is a delightful hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Hammonasset River is a brilliant                  whitewater spot next to Lake Saltonstall. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn -New Haven; Lake Saltonstall is right next door to Wharton Brook State Park which is a scenic location. On a gorgeous day you can visit Front Beach in the neighborhood of Lake Saltonstall, and the view of Beacon Hill is pretty. Time spent at Short Beach in the neighborhood of Lake Saltonstall is always good, and this is a popular place for folks from New Haven-Milford. For the duration of the summertime at Lake Saltonstall highs are regularly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Lake Saltonstall dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to close by Pages Cove is very relaxing, and the snow is fine at Powder Ridge. But wait, there's more to do close to Lake Saltonstall.
