A great deal of rain falls at Salter Pond; most of the rain falls through May, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Salter Pond, you could also visit gorgeous Lydall Pond Number 1; you without doubt should explore Gay City State Park since you're here. Quality Inn Vernon is       a brilliant spot to get some rest, and you can take a little tour to Porter Reservoir Dam since you're here at Salter Pond. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Minnechaug Golf Course, and Porter Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop by. Summertime at Salter Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while                  the cold winter nights at Salter Pond are in the 10's. Salter Pond is a good location to visit for more than one day, Nelson's Family Campground is a good location to camp nearby, and you can run the rapids of Salmon River.
