All through the days of summer here at Salter Pond, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Salter Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Camping is available at Del-aire Camping Resort, and Academy Hill is a peak you can see from Salter Pond. If you like skiing, you're in luck;       Powder Ridge is in the vicinity of Salter Pond, and why not camp at Nelson's Family Campground since you're here at Salter Pond. So much entertaining stuff to do at Salter Pond, so little time. A lake close by is Lydall Pond Number 1, and there's always Porter Reservoir Dam to go to in the vicinity of Salter Pond. Salmon River has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot nearby. A spree to Gay City State Park when you're here at Salter Pond is never a bad idea;                  getting to Averys Brook from Salter Pond is easy. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Minnechaug Golf Course, and at Salter Pond you always meet someone from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford. Salter Pond is not the only place nearby, Porter Reservoir is a nearby lake; Super 8 Motel Manchester Ct is a perfect spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hartford-Vernon, Ct is a glorious place to spend a night or two; in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Roaring Brook River.
