     Waters Edge Resort and Spa is a pleasant site to get some rest; Stannard Beach is quite close by if you're in a beach type of mood. One of the overriding traits of the surroundings of Rintoul Pond is Ingham Hill; Johnson Pond Dam is a pretty location, definitely worth going to. Through the summer months here at Rintoul Pond, high temperatures generally reach the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down  
   to the 30's while Rintoul Pond nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Middle Beach, and Spring Lot Brook is near Rintoul Pond and is always a diversion to go to.
Good hiking is available along the Mattabesset Trail. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Old Saybrook is a fine site to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Rintoul Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Devil's Hopyard
 
               State Park is a good site for that. If you come at the right time of year, Hammonasset River offers some brilliant whitewater. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Rintoul Pond has to offer, you can camp at Wolf's Den Family Campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Cold Spring is always fun to check out; swamps don’t sound that pleasant but Mine Swamp near Rintoul Pond is pretty pleasant. So many cool things to do at Rintoul Pond, so little time. Lakes? Sure, McVeagh Pond is in the neighborhood; don't forget to stop at Money Point since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Salmon River; places like Selden Neck State Park are nice to stop at.
Just can't get enough of Rintoul Pond. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Johnson Pond, and playing golf is lots of fun at Hillside Links Golf Course. Rintoul Pond gets a lot of water; May is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

THe fishermen aren't nice here, especially in the Fly fishing area, we caught a lot of heck from them last year. MAde the trip no fun, I won't return.
