Camping at Looking Glass Hill Campgrounds is always a tremendous experience, and Ricker Pond is not far at all from Torrington. Everybody close by loves skiing at Mohawk Mountain; of course Clark Brook flows through this neighborhood. If you adore the outdoors, you'll fancy Ricker Pond. A delightful place to camp here at Ricker Pond is Cozy Hills Campground, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Naugatuck Trail. Cat Swamp Pond Dam is not far at all

| | from Ricker Pond, and Pomperaug Golf Club is a splendid golf course close by. After a long day outdoors Heritage Hotel is a glorious place to spend a night or two, and if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful. it's right next door to Ricker Pond, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Shepaug River. Ricker Pond ordinarily gets lots of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain,
and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Bantam River is a great whitewater spot near Ricker Pond; a lake nearby is Crystal Lake. Swamps like Alder Swamp right next door to Ricker Pond make
for splendid locations to check out; dry warm beds await you at Crowne Plaza Hotel SOUTHBURY. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have a good time. The skiing at Woodbury is wonderful, and you can have a good hiking adventure
along the Mattatuck Trail. Through the summer highs here at Ricker Pond reach the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Ricker Pond sink into the 10's.
