    What a nice lake Red Gates Pond is. Be careful coming to Red Gates Pond, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Markham Meadows Campgrounds is a great local campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Salmon River. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Red Gates Pond reach the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while Red Gates  
   Pond overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
Nearby lakes? Sure, Globe Hollow Reservoir is right next door to Red Gates Pond, and why not head up to Powder Ridge and strap some skis to your feet. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Red Gates Pond. A great panorama of beautiful Academy Hill is available from Red Gates Pond, and a visit here wouldn’t be complete without a tour to nearby Gay City State Park. Residence

This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel Manchester Ct is a delightful choice, and of course, this is a nice vicinity for folks who like lakes, Goulds Pond is a lake in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Roaring Brook River offers some pleasant whitewater; if you came for an overnight stay Nelson's Family Campground is a great place to camp. At Red Gates Pond you always meet someone from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford, and why not take a little visit to Birch Mountain Brook since you're here.
Globe Hollow Reservoir Dam is beautiful and it's near Red Gates Pond; you can go for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail. Red Gates Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; during the month of May you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is February.

THe fishermen aren't nice here, especially in the Fly fishing area, we caught a lot of heck from them last year. MAde the trip no fun, I won't return.
