What a nice lake Red Gates Pond is. Be careful coming to Red Gates Pond, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Markham Meadows Campgrounds is a great local campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Salmon River. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Red Gates Pond reach the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while Red Gates

Brook since you're here. Globe Hollow Reservoir Dam is beautiful and it's near Red Gates Pond; you can go for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail. Red Gates Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; during the month of May you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is February.
